Introduction to Massage Therapy:
History of Massage – Business & Ethics in Massage

This course introduces the student to some aspects of massage therapy in an attempt to allow the student to assess their interest in pursuing massage as a hobby or a profession. The first two sessions introduce the learner to the history of massage and contain an overview of the best known bodywork modalities. The last two sessions primarily cover the general principles for giving massage as well as a review of massage indications, contraindications, the emotional and physical benefits of massage and will conclude with a look at the general requirements and costs of becoming a certified massage therapist as well as a viewpoint on the opportunities available to massage therapists around the world.

PLEASE NOTE: This course is NOT intended to train or qualify anyone to begin or open a business or acquire employment as a Massage Therapist or Energetic Practitioner. It does NOT prepare anyone to take or to be certified by any state or local board of massage licensure or by any national massage certification board or any other licensing board.
